Ellie and Riley’s wedding at BASH was truly one for the books — or maybe the galaxies far, far away.
The couple went to college with Madison, one of 828 Planning‘s expert planners, and knew having her help bring their love story to life was a must! Their wedding was a perfect blend of fun, nostalgia, and personalized touches that made their day as unique as they are.
A Love Story for the Ages
Ellie and Riley’s journey began in the fourth grade and blossomed into romance during their junior year of high school. After college and settling into their careers, they continued to share their love of travel, exploring places that fueled their adventurous spirits. After eleven wonderful years together, Riley proposed at the stunning Londranger overlook, sealing their future as lifelong partners.
When it came time to plan their wedding, they knew BASH was the perfect venue. Our DIY-friendly space allowed them to customize every detail, and their connection to Madison made having her as their planner feel like a natural choice.
A Star Wars Celebration on May the Fourth
Choosing May 4th, famously known as “Star Wars Day,” for their wedding date was a dream come true for these two Star Wars fanatics. Their shared love of the galaxy far, far away inspired many elements of the celebration. Each table number paid homage to Star Wars while also telling the story of Ellie and Riley’s adventures together. Their passion for travel was woven into the theme, giving guests a glimpse into the places that have shaped their journey.
Personalized Décor and DIY Details
Ellie and Riley transformed BASH into a reflection of their favorite things, adding vibrant personal touches. They decided to exchange vows in front of BASH’s iconic hexagon arch, which they decorated with soft blue draping and glistening disco balls. The dreamy setup created a beautiful focal point, giving a playful nod to Ellie’s love for disco and all things light blue. The couple also rented BASH’s grid walls, which made for a fun and interactive photo backdrop where they could capture memories with each of their guests.
Unique Unity Ceremony with a Twist
Their unity ceremony was something truly unforgettable. In place of traditional unity candles or sand ceremonies, Ellie and Riley chose a playful and symbolic gesture by making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich together. They each had a part—Ellie spreading the peanut butter and Riley the jelly—before putting the two halves together to create a snack they’d enjoy right then and there. It was a lighthearted yet meaningful moment, symbolizing how they’ll continue to complement each other’s lives.
Arcade Games, Disco Balls, and Fun All Around
Ellie and Riley’s reception was as lively as it was unique. They brought in arcade games, adding an extra layer of entertainment that kept guests on their feet. Ellie’s love for disco balls added a playful glimmer throughout the evening, giving the space a fun and retro vibe. The dance floor was packed, laughter filled the air, and every guest had the time of their life celebrating the newlyweds.
A Venue Filled with Love and Joy
Every detail of Ellie and Riley’s wedding reflected their personalities and love story. From Star Wars tributes to a disco-themed setup and arcade games, BASH became a canvas for all the things they loved most. It was a night where the couple, surrounded by friends and family, celebrated their love in a way that felt truly and authentically them. You could feel the joy in the air, and the memories made will be cherished by everyone who attended.
Ellie and Riley’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best celebrations are the ones filled with personality, creativity, and, above all, love. We’re thrilled that they chose BASH to be part of their story, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness and adventure.
