Our latest Open House, designed by Aly, lead planner at BASH and 828 Planning, was a perfect example. The event celebrated contrast and creativity with a vibrant color palette and hands-on experiences, giving guests a firsthand look at how their own weddings, corporate events, or special celebrations could come alive inside this one-of-a-kind Carmel venue.
A Bold Color Story: Cranberry Meets Chartreuse
Aly’s inspiration for the Open House was all about embracing the beauty of opposites. Deep, moody cranberry met the bright, electric sting of chartreuse; a combination that’s both romantic and rebellious. The pairing captured that perfect balance between lush and edgy, making the space feel equal parts cozy and vibrant.
Aly chose chartreuse not just because it’s a trending color, but because it’s endlessly versatile. Paired with soft neutrals, it creates a fresh, spring-ready palette; paired with cranberry red, it becomes a rich, dramatic statement that’s perfect for fall or winter weddings. The best part? The color duo feels timeless across all seasons, offering inspiration for any couple’s vision.
Stylish Details & Trendy Decor Touches
BASH pulled out all the stops with a mix of in-house decor and new rental pieces. Guests got to experience:
Our brand-new podiums, a trendy decor piece we’re thrilled to add to our rental inventory. Podiums are having a major moment in weddings right now, and at the Open House, they were used to display food and cocktail pairings—a creative twist that guests loved.
Our signature gold shelf, which elegantly showcased glassware from A Classic Party Rental, adding a touch of glam to the display area.
A full photo booth setup, giving guests a fun opportunity to snap a few pictures and imagine the photo ops their own guests could enjoy.
Luxe draping and yard games, including cornhole and Connect 4, for a relaxed, social atmosphere that encouraged guests to mingle.
Hands-On Inspiration: Design Your Own Tablescape
One of Aly’s favorite elements of the event was the “Create Your Own Tablescape” station. Guests were invited to play with different combinations of glassware, flatware, chargers, napkins, and runners thanks to the incredible variety provided by from A Classic Party Rental.
This hands-on experience helped couples discover their personal style and visualize what their wedding day could look like inside BASH. It was interactive, creative, and a huge hit among our guests.
Perfect Pairings: Food Meets Cocktail
To tie it all together, Aly invited some of BASH’s epic local caterers to collaborate on something special: custom food and drink pairings. Each food station was paired with a specialty cocktail from our in-house bar, giving guests a chance to explore flavors, find inspiration for their own menu, and see how a thoughtful pairing can elevate the entire event experience.
From refreshing bites to seasonal cocktails, this feature quickly became a crowd favorite.
A Night of Connection & Creativity
The Open House was a celebration of collaboration, color, and creativity. Guests got to play, taste, design, and connect with vendors while getting a firsthand feel for what it’s like to host an event at BASH Carmel.
